What are the white specks all over the glass of my fish tank's cover?
I took all the gravel out, rinsed the whole tank out, changed the water and treated it yesterday, and the filter and heater has been running for 24 hours now. Within 24 hours white speckles appeared on the glass portion of the tank's cover where the florescent light shines through. What could have caused the specks?

If it is on the cover/hood area where there isn't any direct water contact my only guess with what you have described would be for a freshwater tank: Calcium buildup from tap water. Try Reverse Osmosis water or untreated well water (test first before use) if it is a saltwater tank it could just be salt creep. Left over salt from the ever present evaporation that occurs. If it builds up in 24 hours like that you may have dry air in the house. Get a humidifier. It will help you and the tank. LOL.
