Painters: What are some of your tips for watercolor or acrylic paint?
I paint for many years. I try to relax on my style, but still paint in a realistic style folk-artsy but not too tight. Suggestions?
Another thing is, if you wear glasses, try wearing them without painting. I also asked my students to try to paint an impressionistic copy they admire. This forces you to really notice the brush strokes and technique. Keep in mind that often the impressionist mixes the colors on the canvas, not the palette. Then, try to ignore all convey a mood without really represent anything, but using color to communicate. Experiment with color layering and drops of paint on your file.
