Is Sable or Goat hair better for makeup brushes?
So lately i've been searching for makeup brushes.
And looking for good deals.
Right now I have only a 5 pc. set from eco tools and one eyeshadow brush from target.
I was searching on ebay for some brush sets and i found a set of makeup brushes 18 pc. for 23 USD made of goat hair.
Then i was searching on youtube and there was this girl that did a review on a set of like 40 pc. "MAC" makeup brush for 50 USD made of sable hair.
*NOW BEFORE YOU WRITE A COMMENT PLEASE DO NOT SAY 'DONT BUY THE MAC BRUSHES THEY ARE FAKE!!" I know, its just the name that they made fake to put on the brushes. But it just matters for the quality for me. And if i buy the 'MAC' brushes the person has 100% feedback.
Anywho, back to my actual question : Which is better? Sable or Goat hair?

I believe sable and goat hair are somewhat similar. I believe goat hair is notorious for being a bit more expensive and are much softer to the skin (great for blending.) Although there is no big difference, I'd say goat hair is of better quality.
Honestly, it depends on what brushes you're looking for. A set is great, but all brushes are different and therefore it would probably be best that materials vary for each different brush. i.e: (Foundation and concealer brushes are mostly made with synthetic hair so that the foundation does not get absorbed into the bristles; goat hair is great for powder and brush brushes etc )
You honestly only need: foundation brush, powder brush, blush brush (an angled one for contouring as well), concealer brush (which doubles as a lip brush), a large fluffy eyeshadow brush for blending, a crease brush (smaller) and an angled eyeliner brush (for eyeliner or for the eyebrows...or even for applying on red lipstick)!
It is much better to splurge on separate brushes (you'll actually use!) of good quality. Most of the time, brush sets come with brushes you'd probably never touch.
But if you're still looking for sets -
M.A.C may be name brand, but I've come to know of a lot of cheap dupes for m.a.c brushes =)
Sonia Kashuk brushes at target are amazing! (they have a set as well and some of the brushes inside are comparable dupes to mac brushes. Make sure you get the ones with white handles).
Coastal Scents also make great brush sets (12 piece sets I think) for very very cheap. And a lot of the reviews were very positive...except for "strange" smells coming from the brushes when they are new. You can get coastal scent products online.
So - after all this, I'm going to say get goat hair. It is "better." I've come across a ton of luxurious makeup brushes and guess what they're made out of ? =)
