Carbide Oil

one would never accuse the us of having double standards?

or of being hypocrites, so should those who have suffered in the BP oil well blow out receive the equivalent of that received by those who suffered and are still suffering at the hands of union carbide (dow chemicals) paid out at the same rate of time, $450 over 25 years?

should BP pay the same fine $470 million plus inflation, after all the us isn't sanctimonious, is it?

That $450.00 over 25 years is right about on the nose with my calculations (or maybe even a little high). I am aware that some folks have already received more than that but after the publicity dies down, I expect the numbers to coincide with those devalued brown person numbers. The US is hypocritical on many issues but you just happened to pick the one on which you are wrong. When it comes to human beings, the US with cautiously deliberated equality, considers all humans universally and equally worthless, and I have every confidence, the gulf oil spill compensation over time will convincingly demonstrate as much.
